On Thursday, January 23 and Friday, January 24, the Public Village will host live concerts featuring international music sensations Texas and Divas of Soul.

Glasgow band Texas, who this year celebrated the 25th anniversary of their first ever public concert, will perform on Friday 24 January following the end of play. Texas have sold more than 30 million albums worldwide and are expected to play a range of hits from their 25-year repertoire including their breakthrough 1989 top ten hit I Don’t Want A Lover and a selection of other anthems from their multi-platinum collection of albums, White On Blonde (1997), The Hush (1999) and their 2000 compilation of Greatest Hits. The band, fronted by Sharleen Spiteri, is also expected to play tracks from their latest album, The Conversation.
Divas of Soul Kathy Sledge, the legendary voice of Sister Sledge, and Gwen Dickey, the voice of Rose Royce will complete the stellar line-up with an uplifting performance on Thursday 23 January, bringing a dose of disco fever to the public village as the weekend begins.

The Commercial Bank Qatar Masters Pro-Am golf outing will take place on Tuesday, January 21 in the morning, followed by the Pro-Am Gala Dinner hosted by the Qatar Golf Association, the Qatar Olympic Committee, Doha Golf Club and Commercial Bank of Qatar at the St. Regis Hotel, Doha, the official sponsor and preferred hotel of the event.
