Ever since 1998, Doha Golf Club has hosted the prestigious Qatar Masters tournament, now sponsored by Commercialbank and held in February as part of the European PGA tour schedule. Each year many of the world's top golfers compete on the Club's unique and challenging desert-type Championship Course, designed by Peter Harradine – one of the world’s leading golf course architects, measuring 7,374 yards from the tournament tees.
