Qatari Hospitality To The ‘Fore’ For World's Greatest Golfers In Doha
7 Jan 2009

Four Seasons to Welcome Golfing Elite to Commercialbank Qatar Masters, Presented by Dolphin Energy

While Doha Golf Club’s pristine fairways and greens will welcome the world’s best players by day, at night the leading lights in the Commercialbank Qatar Masters, presented by Dolphin Energy, will be treated to five-star luxury courtesy of Four Seasons Doha.

The US$2.5 million tournament has once again joined forces with Four Seasons to ensure that top stars such as defending champion Adam Scott and visiting US debutants Boo Weekley and Brandt Snedeker receive a typically warm Qatari welcome as they do battle in the twelfth staging of the PGA European Tour event.

“Four Seasons have always been proud on many levels of their partnerships with Commercialbank on various events and in particular with the Commercialbank Qatar Masters, presented by Dolphin Energy,” said Simon Casson, General Manager Four Seasons Hotel Doha.

“Over the past few years, we have provided different levels of support to the event and are particularly proud to be the named Official Hotel for 2009. We have been impressed seeing the tournament grow in stature and prominence over recent years and 2009 will no doubt continue to exceed expectations and deliver a world-class field, course and facilities that will in turn continue to secure Qatar’s place on the world sporting calendar and make us all proud.”

Casson added: “We will be welcoming all the top name players to stay at the Four Seasons and are sure they will enjoy the facilities the hotel has to offer, in particular our destination spa and fitness centre. We will also be hosting the gala Pro-Am dinner attended by all the players as well by the leaders within the Doha community.”

Following the pre-event Commercialbank Qatar Masters Rolex Pro-Am on January 21, some 120 players will tee off at Doha Golf Club when the tournament itself gets underway on January 22 in conjunction with the Qatar Golf Association (QGA), Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) and Commercialbank.

“As Qataris, we are fiercely proud of our traditional hospitality,” said QGA President Hassan Al Nuami.

“Everyone involved with the tournament works towards making it not only a success for the principles and shareholders but also for the many hundreds of guests who come to play and work at the event. It is important that they leave with fond memories of their time in Doha and we know they are guaranteed this with the assistance of Four Seasons.”

The gala Pro-Am dinner on January 21 is one of the key dates on both the sporting and social calendar. After a day on the course, it gives the teams of amateurs an opportunity to mingle with golf’s household names and take home wonderful memories of the event.

“Everyone who attends the Pro-Am gala dinner always comments on how relaxed and friendly the players are,” added Commercialbank Group CEO Andrew Stevens. “One of the reasons for this is because they feel very welcome here in Doha – I am positive that with the exceptional service provided by Four Seasons, both they and the amateurs will enjoy a night to remember.”
