Doha (QATAR): Just as Alvaro Quiros, will return to defend his crown at the Commercialbank Qatar Masters, presented by Dolphin Energy, this week, also back in Doha will be Dutch company De Boer.
The provider of temporary constructions successfully provided the tournament’s temporary hospitality structures for the past two years and will be sponsoring and providing to the tour for the third year in a row in 2010
De Boer will provide six temporary structures of aluminium, glass, PVC and wood to bring a temporary sponsorship village to the golf course.
“We are again grateful to be involved with this particular event because it is a great reference and adds to our extensive experience in golf tournaments,” said Stefan Bartosch, managing director for the Middle East. Following the success of the past two years, De Boer has decided to sponsor the Commercialbank Qatar Masters, presented by Dolphin Energy, for the upcoming three years as well.
“We are very proud of the ever growing success of the event and our co-operation with Commercialbank. As Doha was our first office in the Middle East it is a great honour to participate in this important sporting event.”
Since its inception in 1998, the Commercialbank Qatar Masters has established itself as a key stop on the European Tour, which now consists of 47 tournaments taking place from December through November.
During UEFA Euro 2008, the company set up hospitality villages and press tents across Austria and Switzerland and also set up temporary constructions during the 2006 Asian Games in Doha.
De Boer structures will also see the international limelight at the forthcoming Winter Olympics in Vancouver, while in the Middle East people celebrate weddings, Iftars and other festive occasions under the roof of De Boer tents. In Doha, a quick-to-build gym hall and eight classrooms now allow pupils at the Compass International School to smoothly continue their studies – and sports – while the school deals with a massive influx of new students.
De Boer has also helped with product launches, temporary production facilities and sporting facilities across the region, notably during sporting events such as the Commercialbank Qatar Masters, presented by Dolphin Energy, Moto GP and the Sony Ericsson Tennis Tournament in Doha. Established in 1924, De Boer has offices across Europe, Dubai and Qatar, as well as representation in Russia and the US.
“It underlines the success of the tournament when experienced companies like De Boer commit their sponsorship for future years so we are proud to see them on board for a further three years,” said Hassan Al Nuami, President of the Qatar Golf Association (QGA), organisers of the event in association with the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) and Commercialbank.
To be staged from January 28-31, the Commercialbank Qatar Masters, presented by Dolphin Energy, has attracted eighteen of the top 50 players in the world rankings and looks set to again be one of the major overseas events on the European Tours calendar.
“With the quality of the field again as good as any to be seen around the world outside of the Majors, we expect a record number of spectators and guests to join us for the four days,” said Commercialbank Group CEO Andy Stevens. “Looking after our customers both on and off the course is a key part of our business at Commercialbank so we are naturally proud to be able to offer them the best in on-course hospitality courtesy of our relationship with De Boer.”
