Made the most of his opportunity on The European Tour when he captured the 2001 Sao Paulo Brazil Open to earn a two year exemption. Came close to making his winning breakthrough a year earlier when he finished runner-up to Mathias Gr?nberg in the Mercedes Benz-South African Open but lost by a single stroke.
Winner of the 1999/2000 Southern Africa Tour Order of Merit and partnered Retief Goosen in representing South Africa in the WGC - EMC2 World Cup that year. Also qualified for the 2000 WGC - American Express Championship in Valderrama through the Southern Africa Tour. Finished 102nd on the Volvo Order of Merit in 2001 and improved to 79th place in 2002, nearly winning his second title when lost out in a play-off to S?ren Hansen in the Murphy's Irish Open.
His wife Natasha is both his caddie and mental coach as she is training as a sports psychologist. Tragically lost his sister Debbie in a car crash on the eve of the 2001 Mercedes Benz - South African Open.
