Commercial Bank and ECGC Conclude a Successful Qatar Masters as CAMPILLO Raised the Mother of Pearl Trophy

Commercial Bank, the title sponsor of the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters, and Education City Golf Club have successfully concluded a fantastic golf tournament which took place at the ECGC brand-new course from March 5 till 8.

After what was a truly captivating final day of the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters 2020, part of the European Tour, Joseph Abraham, Group Chief Executive Officer of Commercial Bank has awarded Jorge Campillo the esteemed Mother of Pearl trophy as he emerged the winner of the tournament, while Sheikh Faisal Bin Fahad Bin Jassim Al Thani, Member of the Board of Commercial Bank granted Campillo his financial award of 291,660 USD $.

The Commercial Bank Qatar Masters is an annual golf tournament that is part of the European Tour, where many of the world’s top golfers compete. Commercial Bank’s sponsorship of the Qatar Masters for the 15th consecutive year provided not only a world-class sporting tournament to visitors, but also a range of exciting hospitality and entertainment for adults and children.

Joseph Abraham, Group Chief Executive Officer of Commercial Bank stated: “The Commercial Bank Qatar Masters is a premier European tour golf event sponsored by Commercial Bank over the last 15 years and demonstrates our support to Qatar’s Vision to be a global sports hub and host to major international sporting events.”

VIP guests attending the tournament had the chance to visit the exclusive Commercial Bank Majlis which overlooks impeccable views and landscapes. Moreover, Commercial Bank’s tent showcased several entertainment and educational activities for the visitors, where children had the chance to play games while adults could watch the tournament and enjoy the atmosphere.

During the past month, Commercial Bank teamed up with ECGC and planned a set of activities and events to raise awareness on the tournament and golf itself, and create a buzz around Commercial Bank Qatar Masters 2020. Several visits to schools and universities have been organized, during which over 9000 students ranging from 3 to 25 years old had the chance to learn more about the game, its techniques and values.

Additionally, the Bank organized a mini-golf at Doha Festival City, thus giving mallgoers the chance to try out golf and win exclusive gifts. Through this widespread campaign, Commercial Bank enhanced public knowledge about golf and contributed to raising awareness about the sport and the internationally-renowned tournament.

Apropos of the tournament and its dedicated campaign conducted by the Bank and ECGC, Mr. Hussein Al Abdulla, Chief Marketing Officer at Commercial Bank said: “For another year, Commercial Bank Qatar Masters has proven successful.
