2013 Winner, Chris Wood

Prize Money: $2,500,000
In an amazing finish, Englishman Chris Wood captured his first-ever European Tour victory at the 2013 event with a last-hole eagle, taking him from a one-shot deficit to the outright victory.
Sergio Garcia and George Coetzee – both already in the clubhouse at 17 under – could do nothing but watch as the 25-year-old Wood played three perfect shots on the par-5 18th, the last being his 12-foot putt that he rolled in to post -18.
“I couldn’t really feel my hands at the time. It was one chance, and I knew that was all I was going to get,” Wood said, after the win.
Wood also noted that during the last few holes, he tried to channel his similarly named contemporary, Tiger Woods, after witnessing the golfing great come through in the clutch over the years.
